School Day Interventionist

An Interventionist works directly with Elementary and Middle School aged students providing tutoring and instructional support in reading and math. Interventionists assist students with mastery of grade level academic standards in a small group setting of up to 10 students per Interventionist. The position is a part-time position, employing Interventionists between 3 and 4 hours per day during and after school hours (as deemed by the school district) 5 days a week. The work schedules are subject to change in accordance with the needs of Think Together.

Core
Responsibilities:

Provides small group and individual interventions for students while helping students master instructional materials

Engages children and youth by following, and implementing the Intervention curriculum.

Reads to students, listens to students read, and participates in other forms of oral communication with students.
Accurately scores student assessments and monitors student progress.
Assists school staff with devising special strategies for reinforcing material based on a understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities.
Alerts the Student and Family Literacy Coordinator of any concerns or special information about individual students.

Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
Participates in in-service training sessions as assigned.
Operates and cares for equipment and instructional materials.

Keeps daily record information about individual students attendance

Completes paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Any and other duties as assigned.

Additional
Responsibilities:

Arrives punctually in order to meet responsibilities in site start up and assignments.

Maintains close communication with Program Analyst regarding planned or emergency absences for the same reason.

Serves as a positive role model for children in the program through appropriate dress, speech, attitude and courtesy.

Assists in keeping the site maintained to Think Together standards.

Complies with organization and site policies and follows procedures.

Requirements:

Proof of graduation from high school or GED required
48 college semester or 60 college quarter units or passing a Pre-Employment test required Experience working with young children preferred along with t he ability to inspire and motivate.

Background Checks/Testing:

Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting) Provide a clear TB test Pass Advanced Math and English skills (K - 8) testing

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
